Hi, I'm Lily (she/her)

Nowadays, I mainly practice meditation to calm anxiety and boost my focus, but my journey into meditation began after suffering from a minor stroke at the age of 24. During recovery, I was tasked with keeping my body still and managing my blood pressure, all while needing to care for two rambunctious children, being at the mercy of my parents' care, and facing pressure to return to a demanding corporate job.

As impossible as it felt, I had no choice but to make it happen. I knew better than to try to rush my physical recovery, so I decided to focus on my mental recovery. I downloaded a meditation app to see what my friend was on about, and after listening to a 7-day meditation series for chronic pain, I knew I had discovered an incredible ability within myself, a muscle that we all have, but seldom work to strengthen.

One thing that turned me off to practicing meditation more regularly was the mysticism and spirituality often tied to it. Terms like "chakras", "third eye", and "nirvana" all felt unattainable and quite frankly, unapproachable. I began to notice there was a distinct voice tied to the title of "meditation instructor", one that can be particularly hard to meet when you are on the opposite end of inner peace. In 2022, at the age of 26, I decided to become certified as a meditation instructor, so that I could make my own guided meditations; simple, accessible, ones that use common language. Shortly after, I created the straight-forward titled podcast, Meditate With Lily.

Since then, I've begun to love the process of creating my guided meditations; the creativity, the calm I feel throughout recording and listening back, and most importantly, the ease it has brought to others. As of today, I make new meditations when I can, and hope to one day turn it into my full-time job.
